The Oncology Nurses Worldwide Program is a service to oncology nurses who wish to meet and converse with nurses from other countries.

The goal of this program is to develop meaningful relationships between nurses from around the world. This program gives members a chance to discuss the current issues the nursing profession is facing.

Although a new program, Oncology Nurses Worldwide is steeped in history. It's roots come from the ONS In Touch program from the 1980's. Oncology Nursing Worldwide builds on the success of the In Touch program and adds to the value through the use of email and other electronic tools.

The Oncology Nurses Worldwide program is a great opportunity for nurses associated with ONS. This method of information sharing enables nurses from all backgrounds to explore differences in global cultures when providing cancer care.

Who should apply?
If you are interested in learning more about cancer care in other countries and meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Employed in a setting with a focus on oncology care
• Interested in meeting nurses from other countries
• Willing to share information about your best practices

What are the benefits?

• Increased understanding of cancer care on a global scale
• An experience to see nursing through the eyes of a peer from another country

What are the obligations?
Participants in this program will be requested to communicate by email, postal mail or by phone to their partner on a regular basis. The communication frequency can be decided by the members, but contact once a month is recommended.

How do I apply?
Complete the Oncology Nurses Worldwide program application in full and return to membership@ons.org. ONS will then contact you once a member from one of your requested countries is available. To respect the privacy of the ONS membership, only information provided on the application will be shared with the other member.
